I Know Where Syd Barrett Lives

Television Personalities - And don't the kids just love it (1980)

Rating 4.5/5.0
where 5 is an album Television Personalities' kids love (I've been told by unreliable sources)

Television Personalities were a British ...no point. I'll come to the interesting part -

By the time that Don't Cry Baby...It's Only a Movie was released, Treacy (the leader of the band) had gone missing. Rumors of mental illness, drug abuse, homelessness, and even death were tossed about until finally in 2004 Treacy wrote a letter to Iain Baker, an old friend and DJ at London's XFM. In it he disclosed that he was incarcerated on a prison boat in Dorset.  ~ AllMusicGuide

A Letter. He wrote a Letter in 2004. 2004!! I don't even know what a letter looks like anymore.

Before all of this happened, Television Personalities were a psychedelic pop rock band in the 80s who sang intellectually stimulating nursery rhymes and sometimes they got sad and depressed and when they did - they sang sad nursery rhymes. They were poppy and very BREEETISHHHHHH. They were influenced by the Kinks and Barrett and I like both of them - Kinks because they are in my personal favorite list of top 5 bands of all time and Barrett because I was a teenager wonsaponatime.

In Summary, this is what you will get if you made the Kinks SYDchedelic and Syd Barrett KINKy.

Q. And don't the kids just love it?

A. I do. I'm a kid. Hence proved.
