He's crushing his testicles in tight trousers for world peace.

Johnny Rotten (Lydon)

That's what Johnny Rotten said about Bono. I took an instantaneous liking to the guy when I read this quote. See his picture. Isn't he awesome even now unlike Bono!

Today morning while brushing my pearly white teeth I was struck by a thought grenade - I thought it was just brilliant - the genius of it was overpowering - I fainted and collapsed. When I regained consciousness, I didn't remember what it was. I could have written a book on it. This is been my life - some nun told me in a train about a decade back that I'll always be an underachiever - I'm living up to her expectations.

I discovered a lot of music in the past couple of weeks. Here's a list with short reviews but no ratings (ratings are possible only when I have listened to these continuously for at least 2 weeks - this is my own standard that only I care about)

Art Brut's Art Brut Vs Satan (2009) which continues in the same vein as Bang Bang Rock'nRoll. The lyrics are really good - smart, poetic and funny; the music predictable; the singing the way it should be when one really means it.

The Tough Alliance - A New Chance (2007)
The Tough Alliance are dance music (an abused but apt word) and pop specialists who believe in cornflakes and chocolate sundaes - they sound happy and they want us to dance. This is as the first song suggests - Something Special. I can't dance but if I really had to - it would be to this.

Public Image Ltd - Metal Box (1979) - bizarre - the kind of music the survivors of the apocalypse would make if they were not busy listening to Fall albums. And yes, I always wondered where Noel Fielding  of the Mighty Boosh got the inspiration for Electro boy - you've got to listen to the first song Albatross - the same tune!

Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (2009) - This is a french band! They do pop. They like repetition. Tap your steering wheel to it.

The National - The National (2001) - Wonderful voice. Alt rock with a country influence and an early Michael Stipish imagery. Good for long drives. And yes, Cold Girl Fever is the kind of song which makes heartbreaks worth it!

Download not available. I mean I did download it from somewhere but I don't know where. Instead, here's a link which makes you forget you ever thought of downloading this album.
